Application from Bryant Park Corporation for the Barefoot Ball, a fundraising event to be held at Bryant Park on July 26, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
WHEREAS, Bryant Park Corporation ("Applicant") has submitted an application to hold Barefoot Ball on the lawn of Bryant Park, an annual fundraiser for Bryant Park in its second year, with live music (performers to be determined), barefoot dancing, food and drink, and activities for event-goers, to be held July 26, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00PM; and
WHEREAS, Set-up would begin no earlier than the morning of the event, with breakdown to be completed by the morning after the event; and
WHEREAS, Estimated attendance to the event is 2,500 people, an increased number for the event, which will raise funds to help maintain the park and produce free events and programs for the public; and
WHEREAS, There will be about 40 staff members working at the event; and
WHEREAS, There will be amplified sound designed to be limited to the lawn area; and
WHEREAS, Food items such as gourmet hot dogs, cookies, etc. will be sold; and
WHEREAS, There will be corporate sponsorship by WeWork, but no significant signage; and
WHEREAS, The perimeter pathways of the park will be completely open and navigable to the public, therefore be it
RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends approval of the application from Bryant Park Corporation for the Barefoot Ball, a fundraising event to be held at Bryant Park on July 26, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
