Application from iDeko Productions on behalf of Luis Palau Association to hold a media event at Father Duffy Square and the adjacent pedestrian plaza on Friday, July 11th, 2015

WHEREAS, Luis Palau Association ("Applicant") is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization promoting Christian festival evangelism; and

WHEREAS, iDeko Productions, on behalf of Applicant, is proposing to hold a media-only visibility event at Father Duffy Square and the adjacent pedestrian plaza on Friday, July 11th from 6:30pm to 9pm; and

WHEREAS, The aforementioned event is related to "NY CityFest," an open and free music concert and festival evangelical meeting on July 11 on the Great Lawn in Central Park; and

WHEREAS, This event will be bookended by speeches by Applicant's namesake, Luis Palau, and will include a concert with three different bands playing "Christian" genre music; and

WHEREAS, No advertisement or promotion will be made prior to the event and no promotional materials will be distributed during the concert; and

WHEREAS, There are no corporate sponsors for the event; and

WHEREAS, Set up would commence no earlier than 12:01 am and clean up would end no later than 11:59pm;

WHEREAS, The proposed event would consist of a stage measuring approximately 58 feet wide,18 feet high and 33 feet deep, and it would include two screens on each side with speakers under the screens; and

WHEREAS, There will be one banner on top of the stage with the name of the organization; and

WHEREAS, There will be amplified sound for the event and, as per secured permit, it will not exceed 84 decibels per 10 feet and will not project more than 100 feet; and

WHEREAS, Applicant has been planning this event with the help of the New York City Police Department and the 34th Street Partnership; therefore be it

RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends approval of the application from iDeko Productions on behalf of Luis Palau Association to hold a media event at Father Duffy Square and the adjacent pedestrian plaza on Friday, July 11th, 2015.
