123 East 18th Street, Merlagre Inc., d/b/a Paul & Jimmy's, application for a new unenclosed sidewalk café with 4 table and 8 seats

WHEREAS, The applicant, Merlagre Inc., d/b/a Paul & Jimmy's, is applying for a revocable consent for a new unenclosed sidewalk café with 4 table and 8 seats, and

WHEREAS, The applicant failed to appear at a regularly scheduled meeting and failed to address questions and concerns CB5 had about the application; and

WHEREAS, Members of Community Board Five made several attempts to reach out to the applicant; and

WHEREAS, The proposed sidewalk café would be located on particularly narrow portion of 18th Street; and

WHEREAS, Members reviewing this application question the accuracy of the measurements presented in the application; and

WHEREAS, If these drawings and schematics in the application are incorrect then the proposed sidewalk café would not be compliant with DCA requirements; therefore be it

RESOLVED, Community Board Five recommends denial of the application for a revocable consent for an unenclosed sidewalk café at 123 East 18th Street. 

The above resolution passed by a vote of 36 in favor; 0 opposed; 1 abstaining.
