District 2: Participatory Budgeting Vote Week

Participatory Budgeting Cycle 8 Vote Week is March 30th – April 7th

This year 32 Council Members across the city are asking residents to decide how to spend at least $35 million in capital funding. Community members can vote on capital projects like improvements to schools, parks, libraries, public housing, and other public or community spaces. Each participating Council Member guarantees funding for the projects that receive the most votes, until their PB funding runs out. In order to vote, you must be at least 11 years old and live in a participating district.

You can vote online at pbnyc.org/vote OR find your poll site by clicking on your Council Member’s page. After voting you can propose ideas to be put on the ballot for Cycle 9.

Participatory Budgeting (PB) allows neighbors like you to directly decide how to spend $1 million from my council budget to fund capital improvements in our communities, like park upgrades or school renovations. It's a yearlong process that includes idea collection, public meetings, NYC agency feedback, and public voting. It's grassroots democracy at its best!
